Montréal is certainly a city for cyclists...
The Bixi bike program originates from Montréal...
and is spreading to other large cities like Toronto, London England.....
Bixi bike posts are all over the downtown core...
You can sign up for 24hours, a few months or the year...
pick up a bike in one part of the city and drop it off in another!!
and the city has designed these fabulous bike paths...
with lighting...
so that cyclists have their own part of the road !!
Water is used here in the area
of Place des Arts.....
colour coordinated....shooting up at different heights
at different timed intervals!
here it is quite late at night...
a symphony of water and lights...
and we dined right next to this...
at the F-bar, very hip little Portuguese restaurant on the edge of the
quartier des spectacles....
great food and not expensive!!
And you can be right there amongst the celebrations listening to music
that is originating from here...

It is a great music festival in the heart of the city for enthusiasts
of french music!
So, yah...I know...less time for bloggin over the next few weeks...but the entertainment of the city

Oh I love Montreal. It has been years since I've been there, which is crazy given that it is only a 6 hour drive from here. I will have to put it on my list for next summer - this summer if full!
ReplyDeleteI can hardly read the sign because of the neon lighting - can you write out the French for us so we have a better chance of translating it. Mind you I can only read French that appears on food products as that is all the experience I have, so I'm not sure if I'll get the sign or not.
Have fun in Montreal and raise a glass of wine for us.
Well that was fun, Thanks for the tour I have never been up that way. Fun to be in a beautiful city but I bet you miss your wonderful deck right about now.

ReplyDeleteYes, Montréal is such a fun city in the summer. There is this festival, FrancoFolie which is followed by the jazz festival and then there is also the Juste Pour Rire Festival....comedy festival.
On top of that some amazing restaurants!
You got that right Mimi...at the end of a tough week, relaxin' on the deck cannot be beat!
