Reminiscing

So, I know this is going to seem strange
that me,
so in love with my kitchen,
is reminiscing about my old kitchen....
but I am.

and this is why!
One full wall of blackboard heaven!
I know, looks kinda messy but
it was so practical and as you can tell it was used.
You know the story, teens answering phone.... no paper=no message

So where can I re-create something similar?
In the pantry or in the kitchen....

Any ideas?

Am I crazy?

  1. No! Not crazy at all, actually I think you have just convinced me to paint the side of one of our kitchen cupboards, anything to stop the kids drawing on walls!

  2. I am in love with your kitchen, too. I think you could maybe paint a board with chalkboard paint and frame it with a vintage frame. :D Place it in a convenient spot!

  3. I'd paint the side of your cabinet above the dishwasher or maybe even the upper cabinet doors above the microwave - they're separated enough from the other cabinets that it wouldn't look out of place. :)

    I LOVE chalkboards!!!!

  4. Amanda, you will not be sorry! I had that in our kitchen for several years and my son in particular used it as a place to draw all the time.
Great ideas Ricki Jill and Anne! I am going to see if anymore come in and then make a decision. Thank you!

  5. I would love that chalkboard wall too. I still miss things about my old homes or spaces I redid too. It just means we really loved them but I am also loving my new looks too. We must just be fickle and sworn to fun and loyal to none ( design looks that is) :) Thanks for linking up to Motivated Monday at BeColorful

  7. I don't think you're crazy and I love your kitchen! I agree with Anne that the area above the dishwasher would be a great place and so would the cabinets above the microwave. You could also take Ricki Jill's idea, put magnets on the back (as long as it is not to heavy) and hang it on the frige door, then if need be you can remove it to clean. You could also make several smaller ones, labeled groceries, to do, appointments, etc and hang them on the frige or where ever you have the room.

    Have a great week.
