The Christmas Kitchen

I seem to have a thing for stars this year in the kitchen,
they are popping up everywhere...
Some here,
I love these little voltives
they have been making their Christmas appearance for some years now
always balancing on the window ledge.

 and
these little IKEA candle holders with their punched-out stars
are given special attention this year hanging in the window!

and
this year the pantry got some special attention with these hanging paper stars

and
we have also added a touch of gold here and there....

The lovely angel is the keeper of the taps...
sorry for the poor quality of image
but it is happily
snowing and very Christmas-y outside!!

and although we played around with a little table-top tree
here at this end of the counter
we finally decided on this vase stuffed full of everygreen boughs
and wrapped up with a gold bow!!
 Finally the
addition of fresh greenery to the pantry makes it feel a tad more Christmas-y...

So,
that is it,
The Christmas Kitchen!

À tantôt et Joyeux Noël!!

  1. We have the same Ikea lanterns in various colours and we LOVE them so much. They're great for out on the deck on summer nights because the breeze can't blow them out. Merry Christmas Donna [et al.] Love Bardy

  9. Great little touches of Christmas. I love all the things you have hung in your windows. I don't quite know why, but I've never done that. I'll have to give it a try (next year maybe - doubt I'll get around to it this year). I have a thing for those IKEA lanterns too. We have 2 on our front porch.

I noticed the paper stars in your last post (?) & meant to comment on them...I love them!

I also love the hanging Ikea lanterns. They're fantastic! Makes me wish we had an Ikea around here.

Also, I'm jealous that you're getting snow! Send some down, please.

Gina, the closest IKEA is 3 hours away. When I go, oh boy....not pretty!

  23. Glad I found you through Debbiedoo. You kitchen is delightful. The carpet caught my eye, too. I assume it is a vintage Hammedan. I sold a decorating client one in the same pattern. ~ Maureen

  24. Yes Maureen it is a vintage Persian rug. Unfortunately I do not know enough about them other than the fact that I fell in love with these rugs years back. I have a great source if you ever need a lead.
