Reminiscing

 So, I know this is going to seem strange
that me,
so in love with my kitchen,
is reminiscing about my old kitchen....
but I am.

and this is why!

 

One full wall of blackboard heaven!

I know, looks kinda messy but

it was so practical and as you can tell it was used.

You know the story, teens answering phone.... no paper=no message

So where can I re-create something similar?

In the pantry or in the kitchen....

Any ideas?

My Mom

I am busy working on a basement project that I will post real soon.
but today is a very special day to me....

Yep, it is my mom's birthday!!

Happy 83rd to

a vibrant, beautiful and wonderful mother,

grandmother

and great-grandmother!

Farewell Tad!

  I don't have a summer home,

nor a cottage in the woods,
(although some might argue that my house is like a cottage and it is in the woods)

or even one by the water..

but I do have some favourite summer spots

and this summer
wthout a doubt it has been

Tadoussac.

There is something about that beach

that you can walk on for miles....

From the village all the way down to the dunes.

All forms of sea life,

some small and living within shells

                                        and others rather large

visiting as I do, 
on an annual basis. Strangely enough
these whales come back with their babies...who then come back with theirs.
I think I might have started the same trend. My mother has come
here with me over the years and now my daughter spends her summers working here....

They all add to the beauty of this place.....

But once September rolls around,

and
the weather takes hold,
people pack up,
homes are closed up for the winter
and hotels and restaurants are boarded up,
slowly the village life winds down as summer staff head back to school...
Many of them after working here
at this lovely old hotel....

So, with the long weekend coming to an end,
time for me to say farewell...
until next year.

My Garden Favourite!

It is the long weekend,

and yesterday was our anniversary...

so I brought in one of my favourites from our

garden....

hydrangeas...cream...purple...blue...

I love them all.

Interesting View

Recently I was in Montreal

and I was intrigued by the view

from my hotel window

Quite something they way they are perched

up there...

the statues represent the thirteen saints of parishes in Montreal that donated them to the cathedral.

It is said to be a scale model of

Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome and is known as
Mary Queen of the World Cathedral.
