Garden Envy

Work... necessary but it can get in the way.....
Of what?
Well, my plans....
plans to get my planters taken care of on the long weekend....
holiday time...
yep, Patriot's Day is coming up.
So, I asked.... a gardener that I admire and perhaps envy...
how is it that your window boxes get so beautiful in such a short season?

She said,
I buy full grown house plants to fill in the spaces that may appear empty...
I buy house ferns, ivy and all those lovely shade plants that add height and depth to my boxes

Huh?
That seems easy....
So, now....am I daring....do I plant this early in the season?

  1. It will be okay if you don't get frost. I'm going to wait another week I think. It's supposed to be colder here tonight - 4 C. These photos are gorgeous of all the window boxes. Enjoy the long weekend.

  2. Oh such beautiful flower boxes! It's such a risk to plant too early up here in the North....maybe a few more weeks?

  3. I think you are both right. Perhaps I will wait until the first weekend in June. I am so anxious though to get my boxes started but .....

  4. Go ahead and plant them and have something ready to cover them with at night. That's what I'm doing with mine. So far I've only had to cover them twice. Great tip on the house plants! ~ Maureen
ps - keep in mind that NOTHING ever goes wrong for me.
