Fall Cooking

I know that it is still technically summer...
but around here
once the sun sets...it does not feel at all like summer
and that is okay with me
because it puts me in the mood for some fall cooking!

I have been searching for some new and interesting recipes and just happened to come across the site....
An Edible Mosaic...
In no time I was drooling over the few recipes I found below and I am completely sold.

Pumpkin and Cheese Spice Bread.... (click on the image for the recipe)
... you will be in awe of the fantastic assortment of recipes.... and the photography is lovely!

And oh yah....
Soup recipes are always on my radar.
This one looks delicious.. Indian Spiced Tomato Soup with Whole Wheat Couscous...
a meal in one perhaps?

And finally, I do plan on dusting off the crock pot and putting it back to work.
This will be my first attempt back into the land of easy goes it cooking....
This is crock pot teriyaki chicken from the daydreamkitchen.com

Oh, so while that is happening,
yes the fireplace is ordered....yep, that is right, custom made by a group here in Québec!
I am sooo excited, not too happy about the time-line.... 3 weeks... but perfection apparently takes time!

So then, well, I guess I will see you on
Wednesday with my armoire overhaul!!

  1. Yum! Why is it that food tastes better when there's a chill in the air?

Hurray! A fireplace is on the way...just in time for that above-mentioned chill in the air!

  2. How funny - I'm EXACTLY the same about the Autumn rolling in. I miss the warmer weather (though it is quite balmy out today) but I LOVE everything that goes with Autumn, including the cooking.

These ideas look brilliant - Cosy and comforting!
