The little stuff seems LIKE BIG STUFF

Now that the fireplace is in,
I feel like I am busy getting all the little things taken care of...

Electrician in to hook up the motor for the fireplace fan which will allow us to heat the basement.

Oh and then I had to move the bookshelf from the wall since it was taking up needed space in that end of the room now that the fireplace is there..... I guess I enjoyed that bookshelf for 1 year?.....

And, now figuring out the wood storage issue next to the fireplace....
Oh and the cable guy came yesterday and moved the cable so that we can have the little TV that was in the bookshelf at the other end of the room now....
Which means that yes, I will have to rebuild the bookshelf at that end!

Oh boy, did I think of all this before the fireplace installation....

Anyway, I am in it, it is happening and oh....
let's not forget that I ordered a love seat to match the existing love seat and
it was supposed to arrive last week.
Well, a chair arrived instead so now I am waiting again for the arrival of the love seat....

So, details, details, details....
oh yes, I must remember that once the drywall is taped,
we will need to PAINT.

I think my daughter loves painting?
Sarah?

In the meantime I am keeping my mind focused on how this will all look...
some of which was inspired by these images...

White sofas facing one another....

I love the feeling that comes out of this space belonging to Suzanne Dimma of H&H magazine....
There is some eclectic aspect that still needs to be considered for my space in order
for it to feel right....
Perhaps I need to consider vignettes as they have done below.

And I am definitely working it as two spaces....
fireplace end and "library end".

Lots to consider...
but I actually think this is the best part!!
Don't you?

  1. Oh yes, so many small details to work out. But, so worth it! That's is too bad about the love seat mix up. Now you have to wait longer! I love the look in the very first photo. That would be my living room if I could have it. :) All the best with the rest of the makeover. I can't wait to see it!

  2. How exciting! But it is true the devil is in the details. Sorry to read about the mix up with the seats, I know how annoyingly frustrating it can be awaiting for the last piece of a puzzle to finally call it finish! We are currently struggling with that issue ourselves. Can't wait to see it :)

    1. I would say I will have this all done within 2 weeks at the most. Sofa arrives next week and the drywall taping still needs to be done along with the painting. I am anxious to have it done before the end of November for sure!
