Prayers for Connecticut

Source: google.com via Cindy on Pinterest

If you have children hold them in your arms today,
feel fortunate,
if not a child then a loved one...
knowing that
yesterday shouldn't have happened the way it did...

And today should not be what it is,
A day of reflection on the horrors of the day before,
A day where we wonder what could lead an individual to such violence...

Today we stop and wonder what happened to those children,
what they witnessed in their last minutes of life...
Knowing that they should be here,
waking up to the excitement of a season that is meant for children.

Light a candle, say a prayer...
and hope.

  1. Very beautifully said, at a time when we are all at a loss for words. My children are all grown up, but this weekend, I gave each of my three sons a longer, tighter hug and an extra few kisses. May all the prayers sent heavenward these past few days be a powerful force for change in these trying times.
