Dorm Room Decorating

We all need our space,
right?

Somewhere you can go, no matter how big or small...
and feel a sense of
cozy.

Well, dorm rooms do not necessarily whisper cozy,
they actually scream cold.

Evidence....   Angles 1, 2 and 3
Not easy shots given the small size of the room.

But as with all small spaces,
a few tricks here and there and
you can have a cozy little retreat...
as well as a practical space for storing all those
necessary items..... shoes, shoes, scarves and more scarves, going-out clothes, sports clothes, lounging clothes, hats, coats, jewellery, sweaters,  hair products.....

Baskets help out a lot
and decals from the dollar store certainly go along way for the budget....

Clothes pins and ribbon  are great ways to have your friends close by through pictures
and finally a
pretty bow
makes for the right finishing touch on the feminine side

desk/decorating a dorm room

So on those days when the weather is stormy and you need to be inside,
you plug in your little fairy lights,

snuggle into bed
in your cozy teeny tiny room,
and enjoy dorm living... Emily style.

If you did not see how we made the headboard then just head on over here......

  1. Donna, this looks fabulous! You did an awesome job and on a tight budget. I think you should join some of the linky parties and share the before and after. I like the skirt you made around the desk which provides hidden storage and the feminine touches of the peel and stick flowers. Great job!!

  3. Oh, Donna....I love it! I love the skirt and the wall decals. I'm sharing this with Shanley Belle. She will be living in a new apartment next school year. You did an amazing job, and the removable decal is brilliant for a dorm or an apartment!

  4. Very cute. I'm sure having you make her room so special will brighten many a day during her time there.

  6. Great ideas! I have two girls who share a room, and I will use some of your ideas to redecorate and organize it. I saw this post on the One Project at a Time blog hop.
