Eastlake Love

I am in love...
totally smitten.

The thing is I met her,
la table,
 last night.

a lovely couple on kijiji had decided to give her up.
I did mention to them that she was an Eastlake...
but they were not interested in her heritage.
They were moving and had to minimize their possessions.

so,
I brought her home....

and she fits right in.
Perhaps a bit tall but that is okay,

her marble top sets her off from the rest
and she will be a perfect spot to hold a tea cup while reading...

She is so pretty to look at
and
I love the fact she can show off her carved shapely frame
from several vantage points around the room.

Yes, she is my new love...
Do you have a piece of furniture you absolutely LOVE?

  1. Oh Donna. she is a beauty all right! I love the Eastlake style and this one with a marble top is gorgeous. Lucky you to get this! I think it fits in really well there and goes well with the old cabinet and table in the background. What a find!

  5. You are sooo lucky! There are not many finds like that out here in Alberta... we just don't have the long history that the eastern provinces have I guess!

  8. I have your table's cousin in my living room next to our leather reading chair! It came from my grandmother's cabin and later was in her home in Los Angeles for many years. I am sure it must be 100 years old. Enjoy your lovely history!

  12. I was able to purchase an Eastlake side table from an auction. It was only $30 and I love it. It is my favorite table but, unfortunately, the previous owner tried to refinish it. Maybe that is why it was so inexpensive.
