Capitaine Crochet

Capitaine Crochet
My friend Ricki Jill over at Art@Home posted a fabulous video (just click here) on the weekend.
I found myself watching it with tears streaming down my cheeks,
really inspirational.

It made me think of a situation in Tadoussac right now with the whale you see in the image above known as Capitaine Crochet.

Capitaine Crochet has come in contact with
a crab cage which has attached itself to her body by a rope.

A rescue attempt is underway right now to try and cut the rope so that the cage can come free.

If you have ever had the opportunity to see these beautiful creatures in their habitat
you can understand the emotions that people feel towards them.

The status of this operation is being updated here on a daily basis, just click.
I will be following the operation all week long.
Hoping for some inspiration.

  1. I didn't know about this Donna - I have to come here to find out what's happening in my own province! How heartbreaking- although I'm sure they will get that off of the poor thing.
On another note thanks so much for the link up to Art at Home - I'm now very happily her newest follower!
    Big hugs,
    Suzan

  4. I can't watch the video as it would be too sad. I hope they are successful in freeing Capitaine Crochet from the cage!

  5. I hope they can help the whale. I've seen whales in Hawaii and off the coast of California.

  6. I just checked and there's no recent updates. I hope they can help Capitaine Crochet, I hate to see animals suffer because of human activities.
