I think those memories should be vaulted and let books such as "Water For Elephants" tell the story of the circus world. Cirque du Soleil, although pricey, should be as you say, our modern day circus. Take care Bardy!!Donna@anangloinquébechttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03074337849133414753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6857146028824456342.post-89230397166092643972012-05-01T11:51:11.113-04:002012-05-01T11:51:11.113-04:00I think the days of circus animals SHOULD be over....I think the days of circus animals SHOULD be over. It's cruel to make wild animals perform and confine them to cages all their lives. But I gotta say that I do have fond memories of the Shriner's Circus coming to Collingwood every year. Maybe modern day circuses should be all about trapeze and clown acts with no more animal acts, especially exotic animals like elephants, seals, lions and tigers. ...........BardyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6857146028824456342.post-48807768742427801602012-04-30T22:49:11.302-04:002012-04-30T22:49:11.302-04:00It was very cold too which I am sure was not too p...It was very cold too which I am sure was not too pleasant for any of the animals.Donna@anangloinquébechttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03074337849133414753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6857146028824456342.post-24542215259868677632012-04-30T22:48:32.765-04:002012-04-30T22:48:32.765-04:00I hear ya. There is NOTHING sadder to me than seeing an elephant sitting on a stool. It's a humiliating and demeaning way to treat a majestic beast. I am not sure why there isn;t a ban in Canada. If people want to act the fool that's ok, but an animal should never be disrespected.Razmatazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02757164543598076420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6857146028824456342.post-7543718817380119232012-04-30T19:35:38.747-04:002012-04-30T19:35:38.747-04:00Perhaps it comes here too. We were pretty stunned and then of course, the search for a camera.... iPhone to the rescue.Donna@anangloinquébechttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03074337849133414753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6857146028824456342.post-47219562844285490032012-04-30T19:33:40.843-04:002012-04-30T19:33:40.843-04:00Now that is a sight one doesn't see everyday! ...Now that is a sight one doesn't see everyday! When you can walk a tiger on a leash, in unfamiliar surroundings, with the smell of fire nearby, it tells a lot about the condition of the animals. And, people support this business? Seriously!
