Pond hockey tournament on Lac Beauport |
Of course if the sun is out....well you see what I mean. |
There is a halfway point for those skaters that want to break the 3 km up into smaller skate-size pieces. Benches can be found at the end of the oval near the Manoir St. Castin as well as the halfway point. Once upon a time you could rent skates from Manoir St. Castin but that is no longer the case. As a matter of fact I have not been able to find anywhere in the area that you can rent skates.
Walkers get to enjoy the lake as well as they have a track around the perimeter of the skating oval that allows people of all ages to get out and have a stroll.
Matter of fact, I may just head off there right now. Sun is out and I bet there are a few familiar faces over there lacing up and heading out on that ice for their own Olympic moment. Well, maybe that is pushing it but hey.... I believe!?
That looks like so much fun. I love skating outdoors (hate the smell of hockey equimpent in indoor rinks), but there aren't many in our area around Toronto. I've got to keep this one in mind in case I ever make it to Quebec in teh winter.
ReplyDeleteThis has been such a warm winter but so far we have been lucky enough to skate outdoors the entire holiday. Pond skating is quite popular here and of course Québec is beautiful in the winter! You should make the trip!
