Usually I look at this amount of snow sitting
on the edge of my driveway
in mid-March
and I feel somewhat,
perhaps ever so slightly...
depressed.
perhaps ever so slightly...
depressed.
My outdoor wooden planters came down in the night
under the weight of too much
snow....
I won't be able to get to them until most of this snow melts.
But
it is a beautiful sunny day here
I really can't complain
life is good for me and my family
and given what is going on in the world
my own frustration and preoccupation with snow
seems trivial,
superficial.
So, I think I will choose to look at it through a different set of lenses today
and not complain
but rather
simply be
thankful.
For those of you
feeling as I am these days,
feeling as I am these days,
After some research, it appears that the Red Cross is the principal
organization for donations to the Japan relief.

You're so right. Isn't it sad that it takes a disaster in another part of the world to make us realise just how lucky we are?
ReplyDeleteHow long will your snow stay? Ours went at the end of December and we're starting to get daffodils now. Hooray!

I would love to say that it will be gone at the end of the month but that would be wishful thinking. By the end of April we will hopefully be rid of it, but of course little clumps will hang on...at least I hope that is all that hangs on! The ski hill closes May 1st weekend every year. I swear they are responsible for this snow! :)
ReplyDeleteWell I can certainly understand how you feel because we've still got snow too.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it frustrating to see all these pretty Spring posts throughout blogland, knowing that it'll be quite some time before we show any signs of flowers in bloom?
But you're right, we just have to be thankful for what we've got...even if it does include snow! LOL You at least had sunshine today, it's been gloomy here for days.
:-D
Thanks so much for the reminder. I will be visiting the Red Cross website later tonight. Sweet post!
ReplyDeleteI heard on the radio today about a community of 10,000 people where the only remains are the hospital...the whole town and its people...gone. Wow, that's something.
