Okay, so on to brick...
it seems that a lot of people prefer to paint their brick white.
As you will see by most of the images I am including in this post on the brick fireplace...
white is very popular!!

Stone Perfect? Is that it?

No, it is not Christmas
but.... I am on the hunt for a fireplace design...
We are switching out the old wood stove for a built-in variety which means
an actual fireplace...
with a mantel.
Am I excited?
Why yes.... I actually invited some people to an intimate party to share
my excitement....
and their knowledge.

Oh and yes... I know, I know...
send out invitations before the party.... 
but I love that some people showed up just the same,
to assist me on my quest... and perhaps more ideas are on the way?

Fireplace Show and Tell Party

Yes, it is a party, a show and tell sort of event.... 
Why? I know, I know ....this is my first party...
and oh yes, maybe nobody will show up
but that has never stopped me before.
Besides, I can do "intimate".....

Yes, it was his idea and
yes we are switching out the old wood stove
which is no longer airtight, probably dangerous and definitely not environmentally friendly....

Chair Reveal

Well admittedly this has taken me awhile

but finally, 

this ugly duckling has taken on a new look.

I say ugly duckling because the design of this wicker chair is a bit odd

and when we bought it on kijiji the women referred to it as her grandmother's reading chair...

let me tell you,

this is one comfortable chair for reading

and with the pillow-like back.

Most definitely a keeper.

 I am quite proud of myself on this trip.

Easter in Colllingwood, Ontario

We made it!
And after a good sleep on our first night my daughter and I got up to hit our favourite coffee shop,
Espresso Post on the main street for one of their fabulous café lattés

Road Craze

Okay, okay, I thought it best I take you along on the road trip with us.
I have been feeling overwhelmed at work...barely hanging around here...
so I made the decision...
you can come!

Yep!
So, where we going?
Well, nothing really out of this world or anywhere
but don't you just love a good road trip!!!
And this may be the last one I make with these youngins' of ours who are heading off to university.

Of course crowding in to a car with teenagers is not always easy at the best of times so don't panic if this gets a bit crazy at times.....
and yes, it is a 10 hour car trip!!
oops that might turn you off but just know this...
we are heading off to Georgian Bay (I wrote an ode to Georgian Bay at a writer's workshop, that is how much I love it)
to see granny and the grandfather!!!

Oh, and you can sleep between Montréal and Toronto as the highway known as the 401 is
not too interesting.....

 I am feeling very guilty that I do not have a lovely finished chair to show you all

but I have been so busy at work that everything else has taken a hit....

Am I feeling guilty?

Yes.

In the meantime I have been dreaming of the Easter holiday 

and in the process remembering everything that comes to mind for me at this time of year...

and strangely enough it is all coloured in PINK.

I have no pink in my home but I really love the idea...

I love, LOVE the lamps in this image and certainly the pink shades with black bobbles are a lovely addition to this room...

 Perhaps I would have trouble adding in the lamps with black bobbles but I could possibly get away with this wallpaper. A real statement but calming for me at the same time.
