West Elm lighting

As some of you already know...
the dining room is on my mind these days.

It will get a paint job in the spring which means that it will also be needing a bit of an
overall touch-up....

So, the search for new lighting over our dining room table is on.

We have to always consider the existing lighting in the kitchen
since it is within the sight line of the dining room....

Which got me wondering if perhaps we should go with something like this from West Elm.

I am thinking about the one in the upper right...somewhat pumpkin-shaped?
Or do I go with one that I have always loved....

Too feminine for my rustic dining room?
Hmmm... still looking, still pondering.

  1. The upper or lower West Elm would be compatible with your kitchen lights. I think the fancy one may be a tad too much?

  2. I'm with Jill too Donna. I like those rustic ones and in particular, the pumpkin shape. I love your kitchen lights too. Pamela

  3. I like them both, but really prefer the second.

It is always good to go with what you love, because somehow it is almost always guaranteed to work. If you go through WE's images they the second one with all kinds of tables, even a rustic one. It's the imperfection of the shells (nature) with rustic wood (nature) that make it work.

  4. they "show" the second ( don't know how I missed a word) Maybe it makes sense now.

  6. I love lighting and I love shopping for it. I think both choices are fabulous so I'll be no help there! Seems when I'm doing a whole room by the time I get to lighting my budget is blown so I usually buy what's less expensive. Probably not the best thing to do!

  7. After a second (and third, fourth, etc.) look, I've decided I like the pumpkin shaped one best too!

  8. I say go with Exhibit #2, the one that you really love. Elegant beauty looks fabulous in rustic rooms. That's my 2 cents worth!
