I am sure you all have your own...
indicators that spring is really here.
I don't know if it is ever the same two....probably not...
but every year two of them show up and spend time on the tree outside our window.
The sky was a beautiful blue and we were heading out the door for another day of skiing
but
I couldn't resist getting a picture.
One year they built a nest in that tree....
Makes me wonder what their plans are this year.
What is your sign of spring?

I guess that the arrival of the Tulip Tree blossoms.....(they'r actually a magnolia variety)....
ReplyDeleteThey always bud when it's cold, and it always takes me by surprise. Isn't that weird? I should be expecting their blossoms, but I don't.
The first crocuses in my garden are my sign if spring. The weather seems a little crazy this year though, as we're expecting some snow next week! I mean snow, in Brittany, really?
ReplyDeleteMy chickens are making goofy nests all over the coop. None of them are useable but they seem to think they are doing something to get ready for hatching season. Shhh - don't tell them they need a rooster for that.
ReplyDeleteSnow melting - big patchy areas of grass in the park facing my living room - it's like Heaven to me.................
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful photo Donna - really captures Spring I must say !!!
But Spring would really be a night out at Buonna Notte - and ordering some PASTA - sorry couldn't resist!
Hugs,
Suzan
Wow, that's a tough one. Well when I lived in the country the finches would come every year and build a nest on my patio fan, and the other family built one on my Moravian star lantern. The quails would build nests in my pots.
ReplyDeleteNow, I'll have to figure it out in the city; I haven't seen quail or finches.
Love birds!! Or Doves by another name. It's lovely to hear them coo.
ReplyDeleteSpring is just around the corner.
Wouldn't it be lovely it it was the same two, year after year? So romantic!
ReplyDeleteMy first sign is the sun creeping round so that its beam light our bathroom at the back of the house./ It feels me with happiness every year!

Please excuse my ignorance Donna! Are they Doves??
ReplyDeleteThe only sign we have here so far are the dripping icicles. There is more snow on the ground now than I have seen here in the past five winters we've been here. I'm afraid spring is still another month away...sigh.
ReplyDeleteI love mourning doves and we had a lot here all winter until we went away in February and our son didn't put out the seed. I've only seen one since we returned 3 weeks ago but I know they will return to our yard. We have pairs nesting in the trees all summer. I love to watch them gather twigs for their nests. Nice shot!
ReplyDeleteI rarely leave a response, however i did some searching and wound up here "Signs of Spring".
ReplyDeleteAnd I actually do have a couple of questions for you if you tend
not to mind. Could it be only me or does it appear like a few of these comments come across like left by brain dead folks?
:-P And, if you are posting at other sites, I would like to follow anything new you have to
post. Could you make a list of every one of all your community sites like your twitter feed, Facebook page
