Le Réveillon

Le Réveillon or
Christmas morning....

Growing up I always celebrated Christmas
with anticipation
of crawling from my bed in the early hours
to descend down the stairs to our living room
and sneak a peek at what was waiting under the tree.

As our children have grown
we have tried to
combine our own childhood Christmas traditions
with those of our Québec home
where the Réveillon is the form of celebration at this time of year.

Of course our emphasis is all on the food and our family.
A lovely dinner with all the favourites.

Tourtière and a bûche de Noël,
lovely wines
and of course a nice glass of Sortilège
to finish off the evening.

So, a lot of time spent around this table with family tonight
and then again tomorrow night with friends and family.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season.
Wishing you all the best.

Now it is time to hit the kitchen and prepare this recipe
for this evening's celebration.

  10. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! We look forward to Révillion dinners every year in New Orleans. But since we've had flooding rains, we might not go this year.....so sick of the rainy weather!

    Lovely post, Donna!
