Topsoil Joy

We escaped for the weekend for a bit of this...
some hiking and much needed exercise for Jack!

Jack is certainly keeping us busy these days,
hikes have been on the schedule every weekend.
but, don't worry, I have not given up on this....
rich planting soil is down and now I need to wait for some sunny weather
to start planting.

Came across this idea on our hike this weekend...
hmmm...kind of interesting.
thin metal spikes are acting as the frame for long branches. It appears that they are making a wall of branches....
Interesting?
Gives me some ideas!!

  1. I'm sure you enjoyed your break from the landscaping. Jack is a really big dog and I'm sure he need a lot of exercise. The branches stacked that way are interesting. Not sure what they are trying to do. Perhaps a windbreak or sort of dam to prevent erosion.

  2. You have dirt! Yay! I started making a wattle fence and decided I couldn't live long enough to get it done. lol Lucky Jack to get to hike through all that beautiful countryside! ~ Maureen

    1. Well, there you go... a wattle fence...that is what you call that? I have a feeling that I might not live long enough to do that either and then I would become obsessed with getting it filled in!! Not all ideas are meant to be pursued? Am I right?
